Burlington Taxi Service Advantage

Burlington Taxi is the largest taxi fleet in Burlington with vehicles including minivans, sedans, wheelchair accessible vehicles and various seating capacities. A long established company, starting in 1968; Burlington Taxi has vast experience and understanding of customers' needs.

Burlington Taxi has also led the way with technology being one of the first cab companies to use a fully computerized booking and dispatch system. All cars are fitted with “in-car” computers which give the drivers precise instructions, including mapping directions for the pick-up address and any remarks that may assist the driver. With an average response time of just eight minutes and covering the entire area, 24 hours, seven days per week, the service is the quickest and most convenient in Burlington.

Our drivers adhere to a strict dress code, are helpful and courteous and are fully trained on the use of the computer dispatch system. As an added safety measure for both drivers and passengers, all taxis are fitted with Global Positioning Systems which enable the cabs to be tracked or located in an emergency. All Burlington Taxis are clean and inspected.

Since 1988, Burlington Taxi has been providing support to the Burlington Transit System through the purchase and maintenance of Wheel Chair Accessible Taxis.

At Burlington Taxi we feel that we have some responsibility in assisting persons with disabilities with their transportation needs. So today we're proud to have 2 specially equipped; fully wheelchair accessible vehicles to ensure our 'special needs' Customers receive the high level of prompt, courteous and professional service they deserve.

And as part of our commitment to providing the highest level of service to all members of the community, we continually update our vehicles and train new drivers to assist the disabled community to be more mobile.

Our vehicles are modified side entry vehicles specifically designed to transport most wheelchairs and in some cases scooters. Our company policy is always to ensure the safety of our customers first which unfortunately limits the size and types of some scooters that we can safety transport.

To ensure that your scooter can be transported safely by Burlington Taxi please review our policy below. We have also listed a list of current popular models of scooters that we can currently transport. This policy is subject to change at Burlington Taxi discretion.

1. Passenger must be able to get off the scooter and into a seat in the vehicle without driver assistance as per manufacturers recommendation.

2. The passenger must be able to drive the scooter up the ramp with no driver assistance other than to ensure it's stability on the ramp.

3. The scooter must be able to be tied down securely at four points while facing forward.

The following is a list of Scooters that we have currently approved for transportation. Any additional scooters must be approved by Burlington Taxi in advance of using our service. In order to get your scooter approved we require 48 hours notice to come to your location. Once approved you may call us at any time.
