As you have read throughout our website, Burlington Taxi is unique in every way. Unlike most of the taxi industry, we operate in a fleet format. We maintain the vehicle, supply the vehicle, the fuel and even supply the windshield washer fluid. All you need to do is come in and drive. No worries!!!

How to Apply

Who can Apply
Do you enjoy meeting and serving people, have a good driving record and possess a valid Driving license? If so, Burlington Taxi invites you to join our professional team of taxi drivers.

What do I need to be a Driver at Burlington Taxi?

All applicants are required to submit;

  • a valid drivers license
  • a driving abstract (your drivers abstract must not have any more than 5 points or four infractions without points)
  • medical note from your doctor stating they are fit to drive;
  • and a recent criminal record from your local police department (RCMP clearances are not accepted)

Once we receive you application and we feel you fit the type of employee we are looking for, you will receive an interview with our Operations Manager. If successful in being hired, you will be given a letter stating you have been hired by Burlington Taxi.

Before starting, you will be required to obtain a taxi license from the City of Burlington and complete our training course created by our office to ensure that you understand not only our company policies but also our required customer service levels.

You will also be required to have a good knowledge of the English language and be able to pass a street location test which tests your knowledge of the city.

Driver Training

We recognize the importance of our drivers’ contributions in providing service excellence to our commuters. To help us realize this, we have introduced training programmers to equip and develop our drivers with necessary skills to improve their service delivery and remain competitive.

Our strategy to ensure our drivers deliver high levels of service is to continuously improve their skills. This course aims to provide an all rounded training program for drivers to understand their responsibilities to our customers. This includes;

Listening and Oral Communication
To enhance the listening and communication skills of drivers.

A Knowledge Worker for the Tourism Industry
To provide drivers with a mental framework of Burlington’s tourism industry to help drivers understand the important role they play in Burlington’s tourism industry.

I Am an Excellent Host
To equip drivers with the necessary skills to provide good service to customers.

Managing Difficult Situations
To equip drivers with skills and techniques for handling customers in a difficult situation.

Putting a Quality Roadmap in Your Mind
To provide drivers with updated information on landmarks in Burlington.

Essential Vehicle Maintenance
To provide drivers with essential technical knowledge on taxi maintenance.

Safe Driving
To equip drivers with knowledge on defensive driving so as to prevent road accidents.

On the Road Training
Trainees then spend time on the road with a driver trainer.

Refresher Training Course (RTC)

To remain relevant and updated on the latest happenings in the taxi industry, we are currently developing a Refresher Training Course so that once every two years our drivers get a refresher of how to offer our clients the best service possible.
