Today, Burlington Taxi operates the largest taxi company in our area out of our 12,000 sq. ft. facility located in the heart of Burlington. We employ more than 130 employees that share our dedication to being 'the best we can be' in serving our Customers. We employ a team of ‘Class 'A' mechanics to maintain our fleet's road fitness. Our drivers are trained to meet all Transportation Board requirements - plus our own proprietary, training program to ensure they also meet our standards for performance, excellence and Customer service. Raising the bar on taxi service Innovation that’s known around the globe… In 1993, Burlington Taxi designed a computerized dispatch system to better serve its customers. This innovative, leading-edge technology uses a state of the art, in-vehicle computer Global Positioning Systems to locate the closest vehicle to the customer and then automatically sends the information directly to an in-vehicle computer without intervention from people. For Customers, this innovation will mean shorter wait times through more efficient dispatching as calls can now be dispatched within seconds from the time a customer calls. The system, designed and developed in-house is now the most accepted taxi dispatch system in the world. Responsive to Community Needs… In 1988 Burlington Taxi was one of the first taxi companies in Ontario to supply wheelchair accessible taxis. The vehicles were used to assist with the growing demand on the City of Burlington’s Handi Van system. Burlington Taxi has purchased five of these units over the years at a cost of almost a quarter million dollars. The on-going costs of running this service is subsidized by Burlington Taxi to the tune of $3,500 a month but is one of the many community services that Burlington Taxi continues to commit to its community. Committed to social responsibility… Since 1979, Burlington Taxi has operated with Propane as an alternative fuel for better vehicle efficiencies, to address environmental concerns and take advantage of cost benefits. We are proud to be a leader in yet another area of operational efficiency. Burlington Taxi is one of the few fleets in the province to advance to alternative fuel, and we continue to work with the industry to promote other environmental friendly fuels. Leadership that sets customer service standards… Since the late 80’s, our insurance company has presented Burlington Taxi as the role model for its fleet management-training program. Our company is utilized to demonstrate “How to lower accident ratios and upgrade vehicle maintenance.” In fact, our insurance has been historically one of the lowest in the taxi Industry.
